MAB's grandest exhibition at Prague's historic Carolinum

The grand finale of "The Defense of Colored Pencils" (2004 – 2024)

The entire twenty-year "illustrated story" of the project culminated in a grand retrospective exhibition at Prague's historic Carolinum (the seat of Charles University) in June 2024. Marie MAB Brožová filled the breathtaking gothic cloister and exhibition halls with two hundred of her large-scale masterworks created during her public drawing events.

The exhibition also featured exclusive guided tours, where MAB shared the intimate stories behind each artwork and openly chatted with visitors.

To celebrate this milestone, Marie released a limited-edition book titled "How I Defended the Colored Pencil," documenting two decades of the project through stunning artwork and photographs. The book was officially launched by acclaimed Czech sculptor Martin Patřičný, who beautifully described the exhibition as "the beginning of a new era, bringing beauty and harmony back to fine art."
