"Through the world of Fairy Tales," a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, was completed in 2017. Created in her atelier, the original artwork is an A3 format piece, measuring 42 x 29.7 cm (16.5 x 11.7 inches).
The Story Behind the Art
In the evening, a little girl sits snugly in an armchair, reading a fairy-tale book under the warm glow of a lamp. From the shadows of the room, magical creatures and monsters emerge, brought to life by her imagination.
Hidden Details to Discover
This painting is a vivid memory of Marie Brožová's childhood. Her grandmother’s armchair is real, as is the wooden sword—one of her favorite toys, since as a little girl, she preferred playing knights over princesses. The wooden floor recalls the apartment in the center of Prague where she lived until the age of eight, and Cookie the cat is, of course, real too.
