"Springtime in the Feline Soul" (2010) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public in Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches).
The Story Behind the Art
Outside the window, a bleak and chilly early spring still reigns, but the sun's rays are already warm, breaking into a cozy room filled with the soft light of candles and lanterns. Here, a fire crackles in the fireplace, the scent of tea fills the air, and cats live their best lives. In the painting within the antique frame above the fireplace, trees are already in bloom and spring is in full swing.
