"Return to Earth" (2022) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public at her famous Magic Pencil Gallery in the heart of Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches).
The Story Behind the Art
A mysterious cave, blanketed in moss and glowing with green fireflies, conceals countless doors and pathways to other dimensions. You can descend here from distant galaxies, following the stairs down to a seashore where a red-haired girl stands with a lantern, watching for a far-off sailing ship.
Hidden Details to Discover
The glass pitcher bears the symbol of Aquarius, while a fish skeleton in the sky features the sign of Pisces. The transition between these two zodiac signs symbolically represents the soul's final descent from cosmic heights back to Earth.
