"Hope and Fidelity" (2018) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public at her famous Magic Pencil Gallery in the heart of Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 x 84.1 cm (46.8 x 33.1 inches).
The Story Behind the Art
A sunbeam breaks through into the magical cave, serving as a blessing where lasting relationships are born. Home to swallows and faithful swans, this mystical place features hidden passages illuminated by Chinese lanterns leading away from the small islands of an underground river. On the nearest isle, a wedding ring and a bride's shoes glisten in the light.
