"Happy Snow" (2009) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public in Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). This piece is featured as an illustration in the children's book Where the Sun Lies, which is also available in English.
The Story Behind the Art
A cheerful little snow-sprite pours snowflakes from his sack onto the snowy plain. His nose is rosy from the cold, and a knitted scarf warms his neck. His golden hair shines in the sky like the sun, while children and their dog enjoy winter fun despite the frost.
