"Charles Bridge Musician" (2002) is a colored pencil drawing by Prague artist Marie Brožová. Created in her atelier, the original artwork is an A4-format piece, measuring 29.7 × 21 cm (11.69 × 8.27 inches).
The Story Behind the Art
The artist spent her childhood in seventies Prague, a city of quiet shadows. In those years, the world had not yet discovered its cobblestones. You could walk across the Charles Bridge in the golden stillness of the afternoon completely alone. No crowds, no haste. Just a solitary musician, plucking guitar strings for an audience of baroque stone saints.
