"Bring on the Night" (2010) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public at her famous Magic Pencil Gallery in the heart of Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches).
The Story Behind the Art
After dark, two children remain on the playground, whispering of mysteries as they build a sacred pyramid in the sandbox beneath glowing windows. Above them, against a starry sky, the Egyptian goddess Nut holds a protective hand over them, accompanied by the golden Scorpio constellation.
Hidden Details to Discover
This artwork is featured in the artist's second book, "The Soul of Stones", as an illustration for the chapter "Lapis Lazuli – Medicine of Mystery".
