"August Fairy" (2011) is a colored pencil drawing by Prague artist Marie Brožová, created live in public in Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). This drawing is featured in the Fairies for Each Month of the Year series.

The August Fairy brings the medicine of lightness, offering a bird’s-eye perspective and serenity far above the world’s worries. As the fields are harvested and butterflies feast on fallen plums, the distant horizon calls.
