"Music" (2002) is a colored pencil drawing by Prague artist Marie Brožová. Created in her atelier, the original artwork is an A3-format piece, measuring 42 × 29.7 cm (16.5 × 11.7 inches).
The Story Behind the Art
Walking through tall grass filled with blooming periwinkles, the fairy of Music moves with grace. She has just opened the gate to her kingdom, as musical treble clefs ripple across her dress. Did you know that some people perceive musical tones and keys as colors, turning listening into a visual experience? Russian composers Alexander Scriabin and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov even attempted to describe this phenomenon by assigning specific colors to musical keys, reaching beyond the visible spectrum into ultraviolet and infrared.
