"Milky Way Unicorns" (2013) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public in Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches).

The Milky Way Unicorns stand as guardians of the night, gently guiding sleeping souls away from reality and deep into the enchanted realm of dreams. From the quiet, moonlit city below, a mystical path winds upward to a hilltop gateway formed by two living, whispering trees. There, celestial stairs beckon, climbing gracefully through a blooming meadow of shimmering stars, bright cornflowers, and wild chicory, leading directly to a secret door within the glowing lunar disc—where you need only turn the handle to step into the vast beyond.

Through the gift of night vision, the hidden secrets of this magical place are finally revealed. Look closely, and you will discover ancient faces woven into the gateway of trees, carved into the living rock, and delicately painted upon butterfly wings.
