Linden Universe (postcard)

"Linden Universe" (2013) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public at her famous Magic Pencil Gallery in the heart of Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). 

The Story Behind the Art

When you gaze into the sun through the leaves of a blooming linden tree, where the air is fragrant and buzzing with tiny bees, countless wonders unfold. Perhaps even a unicorn, the king of this linden universe, appears, sending down a ladder to another plane of perception. Planets and comets drift among leaves that bear subtle faces, and every linden blossom becomes a constellation in a vibrant universe of unconditional love, which expects nothing in return.

Hidden Details to Discover

When asked why there is a cat in this drawing, the artist explains that it represents grounding – an anchor ensuring we return safely to Earth from other dimensions.
