"Dandelion Dragon" (2023) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public at her famous Magic Pencil Gallery in the heart of Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). Featured in the Astrology series by Marie Brožová, this artwork represents the Northern Lunar Node in Taurus.
The Story Behind the Art
With the power of a dragon, spring bursts through the earth's surface. The Dandelion Dragon wears a wreath on its head, its back lined with spines made of sprouting tulips, and its wings crafted from colorful tulip blossoms. It draws its strength from the underworld, the source of water and sleeping gemstones.
