Waterfall (poster)

"Waterfall" (2006) is a colored pencil drawing by Prague artist Marie Brožová, created live for the in public in Bennekom near Arnhem (Netherlands) as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). 

The Story Behind the Art

Water is a living, breathing soul, and even this magnificent waterfall watches us with a secret smile, hidden within the wooden rope bridge beneath the arch of a shimmering rainbow. Playful dolphins leap gracefully over the edge of the cascading waters, emerging directly from the cloud-filled skies, while serene mermaids rest on the sun-warmed rocks below. In the middle of the bridge, a group of joyful onlookers stands mesmerized, enjoying the dizzying, vertiginous view and the deafening, majestic roar of the rushing torrents.
