The Story Behind the Art

Darkness can be beautiful, like a sorceress in the center of a cosmic web of fate. Her palms, marked with mysterious symbols, hover over a candle flame from which the head of a cobra emerges. Lilith, Adam's first wife, was banished because she refused to be obedient. Unlike Eve, Lilith was not created from Adam's rib but was fashioned from the very same clay. In astrology, Black Moon Lilith represents the wild woman within, who often finds herself in exile, yet holds an immense, enchanted power that you can set free. The artist later expanded on this magical theme in her large-scale drawing New Moon Magic.
