"Spring Sunrise" (2023) is a colored pencil drawing by Prague artist Marie Brožová. Created in her atelier, the original artwork is an A3 format piece, measuring 42 × 29.7 cm (16.5 × 11.7 inches).

The Story Behind the Art

In a magical garden, in the shade of blooming chestnuts and freshly sprouted beeches, a red-haired girl sleeps. Wrapped under a blanket of blossoms and leaning against the flank of a green Taurus, she awaits her awakening. Even the stork by the spring stream is still fast asleep in the grass. The sun has just risen above the horizon, and the morning bird concert is reaching its peak.

Hidden Details to Discover

The key to the garden in the lower left corner hides the symbol of the spring zodiac sign of Taurus. In the crown of the chestnut tree, you will find not only a pair of bullfinches in love but also two little fairies hidden inside the chestnut blossoms. The cat is not missing from this drawing either; it gazes at us from a stone wall.
