September Fairy (poster)

"September Fairy" (2011) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public at her famous Magic Pencil Gallery in the heart of Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). This piece is featured in the Fairies for each Month of the Year series.

In the heart of the whispering woods, September arrives with a touch of magic. Even the tiniest sprites are packing their bags, filled with the excitement of a new school year. The September Fairy, along with her fox friend, brings a precious gift into your home: the pure, untouched curiosity of childhood and the wonder of seeing the world through innocent eyes. Golden sunbeams pierce through the misty woods. In the enchanted school garden, heavy pears ripen on the branches, filling the crisp morning air with a sweet scent. Hidden within a great pear tree, a whimsical clock ticks away—the hands point to ten to eight. The first bell of the season is about to chime. It is time to hurry, little ones, for the very first lesson of the year is about to begin.
