Playful Garden (poster)

"Playful Garden" (2008) is a colored pencil drawing by Prague artist Marie Brožová, created live in public in Lage Vuursche near Baarn (Netherlands) as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches).

The Story Behind the Art

Hidden within the depths of a secret garden lie many magical nooks. A lily pond serves as a home to a water sprite, a dragonfly fairy, and an enchanted frog princess. Here, statues come to life in the blink of an eye, offering a serene spot to get lost in the pages of a book. From afar, the joyful laughter of children on a swing echoes through the air, while the hidden eyes of dryads and nature spirits watch over the peace from the shadows.
