"Mommy Apple Tree" (2007) is a colored pencil drawing by Prague artist Marie Brožová, created live in public in Pilsen (Czech Republic) as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). This piece is featured as an illustration in the artist's first book, The Soul of Trees.

The Story Behind the Art

On a lush, green evening, a mother walks through an orchard filled with ripe apples, cradling her little boy and showing him the wonders of the world. Their basket is already overflowing with fruit. Peacocks wander gracefully through the garden, while in the background, a playful fairy frolics with a ball beneath another apple tree.
