"Generous Fir Fairy" (2007) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public at the Prague Municipal Library as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an A0 format, measuring 118.9 × 84.1 cm (46.8 × 33.1 inches). This image is featured as an illustration in the artist's first book, The Soul of Trees.
The Story Behind the Art
Deep within a snow-covered clearing, the generous Fir Fairy arrives to bring magical Christmas gifts to the woodland animals.
