"Christmas Tree through Children's Eyes" (2004) is a colored pencil drawing by Marie Brožová, created live in public in Prague as part of her long-term project The Defense of Colored Pencils. The original artwork is an impressive A0 format, measuring 118.9 x 84.1 cm (46.8 x 33.1 inches). This piece is featured as an illustration in the artist's first book, The Soul of Trees.

The Story Behind the Art

This artwork captures the artist’s childhood memory of Christmas in the heart of Prague. It was a time when true magic paid a visit, and within the fragrant darkness of the living room, one could feel the presence of an entire forest. Every ornament on the tree seemed like a planet in a green universe. Time stood still, capturing a fleeting moment that the little girl will cherish forever.
