Marie never found herself in the role of a traditional illustrator, as she fundamentally cannot work on commission. Yet, since childhood, her detail-rich drawings have always told stories—stories that anyone could read through the lens of their own imagination. While every artwork holds an infinite number of tales, she frequently heard an inner voice narrating a specific storyline as she drew. All she had to do was start writing it down.

She wrote her first book, The Soul of Trees, inspired by the wisdom of nature and the Celtic tree calendar, in 2008. A companion volume, The Soul of Stones, followed in 2010. Next came Cursed Fairies, an intimate book exploring a woman’s perception of love and creativity; The Tea Decameron, a nostalgic look back at her "tea-drinking era"; and Lost Angels, a collection of dreamlike stories set in the realm between heaven and earth.

Her children's books were born from a rare creative synergy with writer Jana Ruthová. Together, they published two titles: Where the Sun Lies, which has already been released in an English edition, and The Little Artist, a story inspired by Marie’s own childhood.
